Visit the Hanging Church: Start your exploration at the Hanging Church (also known as the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary). Built above the ancient Roman fortress, this church is one of the most renowned Coptic churches in Egypt, with a basilica-style architecture. Visit St. Sergius Church: After the Hanging Church, head to St. Sergius Church, built in honor of the Christian martyrs Sergius and Bacchus. This church is believed to be the location where the Holy Family rested during their time in Cairo. Explore the Ben Ezra Synagogue: Next, visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of the oldest Jewish places of worship in Cairo. The synagogue, dating back to the 9th century, is built on the remains of a 4th-century Christian church. Coptic Museum Visit: Continue to the Coptic Museum, which houses the largest collection of Egyptian Christian artifacts. The museum traces the development of Christianity in Egypt, with artifacts spanning from the earliest days to the present.
